Da gibt es einiges. Die eine oder andere App hat es eingebaut.
Es gibt auch Bots im Fediverse, denen man folgen kann, die auf Bilderposts automatisch mit KI-generierten Bildbeschreibungen antworten. und sind auf Deutsch, ist der bekannteste englischsprachige Bot, ist auf Spanisch.
Oder man nimmt die KI der eigenen Wahl, gibt ihr das Bild und promptet sie, eine Bildbeschreibung zu generieren. Im Gegensatz zum Bot und zur App hat man da per Prompt noch Einflu darauf, wie das Bild beschrieben wird. Es ist nur eben weniger bequem.
Allerdings sind handgeschriebene Bildbeschreibungen KI-generierten Bildbeschreibungen immer voraus. Und das hat gleich einige Grnde.
Erstens ist keine KI perfekt allwissend. Praktisch alle (bis auf die von Meta) tun aber so, als wren sie es. Wenn sie etwas nicht erkennen, ignorieren sie es bestenfalls viel eher aber halluzinieren sie sich etwas zusammen und schreiben kompletten Bldsinn. Das tun sie auch, wenn sie gar nicht merken, da sie etwas nicht korrekt identifizieren knnen. KI kann schon bei Katzenfotos Bldsinn schreiben. Um so mehr Bldsinn schreibt sie bei Bildern von superobskuren Nischenthemen, von denen sie gar keine Ahnung haben kann. Hier ist ein menschlicher Experte fr dieses Nischenthema tausendmal besser, als jede KI je sein wird.
Zweitens kennt eine KI den Zusammenhang nicht und beschreibt Bilder auch nicht passend zum Zusammenhang.
Drittens kennt keine KI den vollen Satz der Regeln und Richtlinien zum Beschreiben von Bildern und Schreiben von Alt-Texten. Folglich werden die am laufenden Meter gebrochen. Weil allerdings auch 99,99% der Mastodon-Nutzer keine einzige dieser Regeln kennen, bernehmen sie lustig diese vermurksten KI-Beschreibungen 1:1, meistens gar ungelesen.
Viertens wei keine KI, da im Fediverse (jedenfalls dann, wenn der eigene Beitrag auch auf Mastodon zu lesen sein wird) eigene Regeln fr Bildbeschreibungen und Alt-Texte gelten. Kann sie auch nicht, weil diese Regeln nur dann kommuniziert werden, wenn sie "gebrochen" wurden und nun gegenber dem "Brecher" durchgesetzt werden mssen.
Aber selbst wenn, kann fnftens keine KI hellsehen und ohne explizites Gepromptetwerden wissen, da das Bild ins Fediverse gestellt werden soll und nicht auf eine Website.

Warum mu es unbedingt ein Bot sein
Passiert das zu oft, als da jedes Mal die Bildbeschreibung hndisch geschrieben und ggf. selbst recherchiert werden knnte
Zugegeben, obwohl irgendeine Bildbeschreibung in Sekunden geschrieben werden knnte, braucht eine gute Bildbeschreibung, die auf den Kontext zugeschnitten ist, alle Regeln und Richtlinien einhlt und auch die Besonderheiten im Fediverse bercksichtigt, mehr Zeit. Aber:
Ein Bot kennt den Kontext nicht. Ein Bot kennt keine einzige Regel und keine einzige Richtlinie fr gute Bildbeschreibungen. Nicht eine. Ein Bot kann mit noch geringerer Wahrscheinlichkeit als ein Mensch alles in jedem Bild korrekt identifizieren. Aber wenn ein Bot etwas nicht identifizieren kann, gibt er das weder zu, noch recherchiert oder fragt er, was das ist. Statt dessen halluziniert er etwas zusammen. Ein Bot neigt also dazu, schlicht und ergreifend Bldsinn zu schreiben.
Bildbeschreibungen von Bots knnen nur absolute Notngel sein. Und selbst dann mssen sie zwingend hndisch redigiert und korrigiert werden.
Wem aber einfach eine Bot-Beschreibung vor den Latz geknallt wird, der wird von all diesen Dingen nichts wissen und bestenfalls die Beschreibung vom Bot 1:1 in den Alt-Text copy-pasten. Und dann steht da Mist, der dann womglich wieder von jemand anders kritisiert wird.

Es soll nur "sehr groe Online-Plattformen" (VLOPs) und "sehr groe Online-Suchmaschinen" (VLOSEs) betreffen. Also in Grenordnungen von zig Millionen monatlich aktiven Usern.

Selbst wenn das Fediverse als Ganzes als eine zusammenhngende Plattform angesehen wird, kommt es nicht annhernd in diese Dimensionen.
Und das Fediverse wird nicht als Ganzes als eine zusammenhngende Plattform angesehen. Das geht gar nicht, und das wird auch die EU-Kommission begreifen. Denn es gibt niemanden, der zentral fr das ganze Fediverse verantwortlich ist. Das Fediverse hat nicht eine ladungsfhige Adresse, sondern zigtausende.
Wir reden hier eher ber weit ber 45.000 Einzel-"Plattformen". Zugegeben, davon kann man diejenigen Anwendungen abziehen, die eh nur Einzelnutzeranwendungen sind, wie die gut 10.000 Ghost-Instanzen. Die EU-Kommission mte trotzdem jeden verbleibenden Server einzeln berprfen und jeden Serverbetreiber einzeln juristisch zur Rechenschaft ziehen.
Selbst mastodon.social ist mit gut 720.000 monatlich aktiven Usern weit davon entfernt, eine VLOP zu sein, und winzige Server kaum bekannter Fediverse-Anwendungen erst recht.
Die EU-Kommission wird kein Riesenfa aufmachen, weil ein ffentlicher Forte-Server mit Freizeitadmin und fnf monatlich aktiven Usern keine wirksame Alterskontrolle hat. Das Resultat, wenn es denn eins gibt, rechtfertigt den brokratischen, juristischen und letztlich monetren Aufwand nicht.
Man mu sich einfach mal berlegen: Wieviel Aufwand ist es fr die EU, eine "Online-Plattform" wegen unzureichender oder fehlender Alterskontrolle zur Rechenschaft zu ziehen Wie lange dauert das, was bindet das an Personal, was kostet das
So, und selbst wenn wir im Fediverse nur Server mit mindestens zehn aktiven Usern pro Monat betrachten, berlegen wir uns mal, was es fr ein Aufwand wre, das gut 3.600x zu machen. Wenn wir jeden Server jeder Software betrachten, die mehrere User auf einem Server ermglicht (also auch WordPress, wo die Mehrzahl der Instanzen Einzelblogs sind, aber ffentliche Bloggingserver technisch mglich sind), sind wir weit im fnfstelligen Bereich.

Oh, this has happened to me quite a lot. And for various reasons.
Mastodon users who try hard to defend Mastodon against the rest of the Fediverse. Mastodon users who insist in working differently from Mastodon = being broken by design. Mastodon users who refuse to accept that a feature which they absolutely do not want the Fediverse to have has actually literally been available in the Fediverse since 2010, and it won't go away.
Another classic: Some of the staunchest, most die-hard alt-text enforcers in the Fediverse are just as much against talking about how to do alt-texts and image descriptions right. You must do them. You must do them right. Or else. But don't you ever dare to try and talk about how to do them right. I guess if you do, you come over as questioning the necessity of describing images altogether.
Zumindest wird dazu nicht alle Welt Ja und Amen sagen und mitspielen.
Es gibt nmlich durchaus nationale Regierungen, die selbst im Fediverse vertreten sind. Die Bundesregierung hat mit buchstblich einen eigenen Mastodon-Server.
Man bedenke: Aus Deutschland bezieht die US Army das Rohr fr das Hauptgeschtz des Abrams-M1-Kampfpanzers. Umgekehrt hat die US-Rstungsindustrie einen Milliardendeal zur Lieferung von F-35-Kampfbombern an die Luftwaffe.
In Deutschland hat die US Air Force einiges geparkt von Predator-Drohnen ber Kampfbomber bis hin zu Atomwaffen und will sie da auch partout nicht abziehen. In Deutschland will das US-Militr sogar wieder taktische Mittelstreckenraketen parken.
Dieses Land wrden sie dann zum Terror-Untersttzer machen. Taktisch sehr unklug.

Over the past few days, I've been thinking about different cultures and about how many different ways of looking at life exist even within Europe, even though at first glance we may seem practically identical. Throughout my life, I've encountered many things that were very different from the Hungarian mentality, but two examples in particular stand out to me. They made me increasingly realize that we may look completely alike on the outside while perceiving the exact same things in completely different ways.

Greeks and name days
For Greeks, celebrating someone's name day is almost like turning a year older on that day as well. Someone who is a little more extroverted will basically throw the same kind of party as if it were their birthday, and that's completely normal. Even when a foreign acquaintance or friend has their name day, they'll celebrate it the Greek way too.
I always have a lot of fun with it and, of course, I'm happy that every year I have two days when I receive greetings in an increasing number of languages. Yesterday, I already received name-day wishes in Greek too - in addition to English, Russian, Polish, and, of course, Hungarian. For some reason, though, Greeks seem to consider this day more special than people do in any other European country. Actually, it's quite nice, so this is one cultural difference I really don't mind at all.
What I find especially amusing is that if you're far away from them on that day, most of them will have already offered you for the thirtieth time: "Come to Greece, we'll celebrate somehow!" This is where their hospitality really shines through.

Russians and birthdays
The Russian tradition is a somewhat different story, reflecting a different mentality - especially since I've personally had the chance to experience it. To a Hungarian, it is rather strange to see that if it's your birthday in Russia, the party isn't organized by other people for you, as is usually the case in Hungary. Instead, you organize it for your friends. You pay for everything, decide where you're going, and if you enjoy being the center of attention, you're basically the main entertainer of the entire party.
Hungary tends to work the other way around. When it's your birthday, your friends usually organize a party for you - either as a surprise or by discussing everything with you beforehand, but generally in such a way that you're not involved in the preparations. There's a certain atmosphere to that too.
Shortly before my eighteenth birthday, the entire country was locked because of COVID, so nobody was able to organize anything like that for me, although I had already taken part in organizing similar events before then. At first, I really didn't understand why things were the other way around in Russia. I remember finding it very strange to see the birthday person being the one in charge of everything. Of course, I'm sure everyone has their own habits there too, just like in Hungary, but in most cases, this was the tradition I observed.

These kinds of differences are really fascinating. More than anything, they show how much it matters where we come from and the environment we grew up in, and why we sometimes react to exactly the same things in completely different ways.
